Pros
Great mid-level and junior staff who really care about the work. Very mission-oriented. Small family style atmosphere that allows for friendly interactions among all levels of staff.
Cons
Finance and contracts departments are led by spoilers who are disinterested in addressing problems or improving systems or even growing with the company- knowledge of contracts is not deep; no desire to hold others accountable in the company and would prefer to maintain relationships. Finance decisions can be arbitrary and painstakingly slow; mistakes difficult to address on all levels in non-program departments.
