Pros
Quite a bit of creative and technical latitude is allowed in daily tasks, so if you're smart, you can usually find ways to derive modest pleasure from at least some of your work.
Cons
Small company issues. No health benefits, retirement, etc. No system of individual reviews, no dedicated human resources person. Employee responsibilities are formally undefined. Employees are just tools of production, rather than members of a team. The company makes promises it frequently does not keep, and a take-it-or-leave-it attitude from management and owners reinforces this negative situation.
