Pros

The families were amazing to work with

Cons

I use to love working for CSH however, when they decided to “help” (take over) the san diego region it all went downhill. They constantly kept criticizing our team and kept finding things “we can improve” (they were being pitty). The san diego region was honestly like a family. Most supervisors would work 10-12 hour days to improve the region and help the families. They kept trying to implement pips, deny time off request even if it was for surgical reasons (super unethical), they kept saying they will send families back to insurance with limited availability (single moms who do their best to balance everything while providing for their family). They kept making unprofessional comments to our minority “did you really just pronounce this word wrong” (repeated it 3 times, on what she said wrong even though english is her second language). Or would make comments like “what was written on the email was such a telenovela”. There’s no such thing as work life balance since they would constantly add work. If you ask for a raise they would always deny it but keep giving you more work. It was such a stressful experience the last few months being constantly criticized and watched. Instead of supporting and helping they made half of the supervisors quit in less than 1 month. They lack communication, changing things without informing the SD supervisors even though they don’t know the clients. They purposely wouldnt cc the main bcba on the case. But since the SD region was so united we would keep everyone on the loop. We are trained to teach our kiddos to generalize and be flexible however, they lack this ability and wanted everything their way. It broke my heart seeing the main SD supervisors be disrespected and under appreciated when they BUILD SD. It’s really not worth working here. Save yourself the drama and the unprofessionalism. One last thing, this company sees everyone as replaceable so all your hard work would not be worth it.

We would like to express our gratitude for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your experience at Creative Solutions for Hope (CSH) after your resignation. We sincerely appreciate your willingness to share your thoughts with us. At CSH, we strive to create a work environment where employees can develop strong professional relationships, making it feel like a second home. However, we regret that during the months leading up to your departure, you did not communicate your concerns about the situation. Our management staff holds weekly meetings, and it is our hope that employees take advantage of these opportunities to voice their concerns. This allows us to provide appropriate feedback and support. We believe in giving every employee a voice, but remaining silent and waiting for a different outcome, instead of actively participating in finding a solution, unfortunately means you did not fully engage in improving your experience in your role with us. You are correct in stating that external assistance was brought in, and this was due to consistent complaints from funding sources regarding late report submissions from our SD region and concerns about staff requiring additional training in ethical utilization of client hours. Moreover, the support was provided to your regional director and supervisors to manage the growth occurring in the region since upper management was alerted to increased complaints coming from our internal CSH departments regarding failure to follow company policy and protocol, which put CSH at risk of liability. It is disheartening to learn that this perspective was not evident to you. Our goal is to ensure that all CSH regions operate in accordance with the guidelines of our work and the requirements of funding sources. Each region is part of the same company and should maintain a certain level of consistency. This is simply the business response to the accusations raised in your review. As you are aware, our BCBA's and CM's have the flexibility to create their own schedules, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. Our BCBA's and CM's take pride in their strong work ethic, providing assistance to both the families we serve and the hardworking staff. The clinical strength of the SD team has always been acknowledged and appreciated. Regarding your concerns about the term "minority," we wish that if you found it offensive, you would have reached out to your team's director or the human resources department for immediate and effective support in addressing the issue. There are a few additional points we would like to emphasize. First, CSH does not simply turn away families due to limited availability. We have a clinical obligation to our clients and adhere to the recommended services. Consistent access to these services is vital for our clients' success. The ultimate decision regarding service availability lies with the direct supervisors, who are familiar with the individual situations. It is not determined by the external assistance provided, as they may lack the specific knowledge required. Secondly, we would like to acknowledge that there were indeed corrective actions being taken for our staff behind the scenes. Unfortunately, the lack of communication led to a lack of unity within the team, contrary to your statement about "keeping everyone in the loop." This breakdown in communication ultimately resulted in the loss of three clinicians in the region. Finally, CSH does not deny any time off requests for confirmed medical reasons. Our human resource team is fully knowledgeable about employee laws and ensures that we proceed in accordance with those laws. As an aspiring BCBA mush like yourself you should understand that we firmly believe that individuals dedicating their careers to this field are invaluable and irreplaceable by companies of our size. In fact, we have invested significant time, training, and support in many case managers, even assisting them in transitioning from one region to another, to demonstrate their value. It is disheartening when they choose to leave despite our efforts. Once again, we apologize that your experience did not align with the values that CSH upholds. We genuinely wish you the best in your future endeavors within this field of work.

Pros

- Great management! They are very supportive when you are not feeling well or are having a hard time with clients! - It is pretty easy to move up in the career ladder as long as you are dedicated. The BCBAs are willing to help out!

Cons

- Reroutes do get difficult sometimes. When your client cancels, there may be a chance you do not earn hours since you may not get reroutes.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! We're glad to hear you feel supported by our management team and are finding opportunities for growth. We truly value your dedication and contributions. We understand that reroutes can be challenging, especially when cancellations happen on short notice. While it can be difficult to reroute you to a new client under those circumstances, please know that we do everything possible to help mitigate the impact. We also encourage you to stay communicative with your managers and the scheduling team—especially if a client shows a pattern of cancellations—so we can provide the best possible support. Thanks again for being a valued member of the CSH team!

Pros

Higher wages than most other ABA companies.

Cons

Ridiculously large caseloads. They hired basically anyone and then didn’t adequately train them. This led to really poor BT performance. HR was very unprofessional and made people constantly scared for their jobs. There was really only one BCBA who would come up occasionally for supervision (she was great) but otherwise there weren’t any competent BCBAs providing supervision. The turnover at the company was worse than others, which is saying something.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We do want to address a number of statements in this review, as they don’t accurately reflect how our organization operates or what most of our team experiences. Caseloads are not ridiculously large as described. They are intentionally built to support our Case Managers in maintaining full-time schedules. We take factors such as cancellations and client availability into account to ensure staff have consistent hours to pull from. Caseloads are also reviewed regularly and adjusted as needed to support our team while maintaining a high standard of care for our clients. In the same way, the comment about training is not consistent with our process. Behavior Technicians go through structured onboarding and receive ongoing support and supervision to help them succeed in their roles. The claim that there was only one BCBA providing supervision is also not accurate. We have multiple qualified BCBAs who are actively involved in supervision, case oversight, and supporting staff on a regular basis. We also take pride in maintaining a professional and supportive workplace. The characterization of HR as unprofessional or creating fear does not reflect our approach. Our goal is always to communicate clearly, support employees, and create a stable work environment. Regarding hiring and turnover, we maintain hiring standards and work hard to build and retain a strong team. While turnover can happen in this field, the way it’s described here is not representative of our overall organization. Finally, our expansion into the Bay Area was driven by the need for services, not for the reasons suggested in this review. We expanded thoughtfully and have continued investing in the people and structure needed to support both our staff and the families we serve. We understand that not every individual experience is the same, but it’s important to clarify that several of the points raised here are not an accurate portrayal of our company. We remain focused on continuous improvement and providing a positive environment for both employees and clients.
