Pros

Like most companies, Credit Acceptance has our "lingo" and our language. Unlike most companies, it is truly institutionalized here. When I first started, I had read about this thing called PRIDE. I thought hmmmmmm....that is probably just the mission statement-of-the-month, or something that everyone is supposed to know about but doesn't really do anything with. Well...I was mistaken. I observed early on that not only is it a "household acronym" around here, people have it posted on their refrigerators at home and believe in it so much that it spills in to life outside of work! So what is it and why does it work? It stands for Positive, Respectful, Insightful, Direct and Earnest. Our approach to work...and guess what? It is in everyone's performance review and that is why it works. People are measured on their PRIDE and held accountable to the Credit Acceptance golden rule. THAT is something that I have not encountered before in my career and I have worked a lot of years........it is such a simple concept and when followed consistently, everyone is pretty happy at work!

Cons

I think that we need to share more of our PRIDE stories with each other more than we do so that we are constantly reminded of what we truly believe in. I am certain there is something going on every day that supports this belief.

Pros

Great listening culture, remote work, and opportunities for advancement for those that can showcase results. The company

Cons

The company is going through a modernization transformation, which has resulted in some reduction in force and that can be unnerving for team members. However, the changes are needed to set the company and its employees up for success long-term.
