Pros
-Definitely the people. Almost everyone I’ve gotten to work with has been smart, funny, and helpful. -Credit Karma really cares about its mission/members, and you feel good working there because you’re helping millions of people. -They try really hard to make it a great place to work. One of my favorite perks is the professional development program- they encourage employees to go out and take classes, go to conferences, etc. to further their growth. -The company’s doing really well!
Cons
-Lots of focus on hiring middle managers, instead of promoting from within, which is not a great experience for those who have been here for a while. (Also, what’s the point of having a professional development program if we aren’t given the opportunity to exercise our new skills/learnings?) -Teams aren’t treated equally- it seems like some have bigger budgets for team events and/or swag. -We talk a lot about being agile, but in my experience, things move super slowly around here. I’ve seen so many projects die after countless hours of meetings because they have to go through endless layers of approvals. -The pay is not great.
