Pros

Meaningful work (at least on paper)

Cons

A toxic workplace where only one specific personality type would thrive and the rest are treated like they don't belong. Dishonest practice throughout the whole organization where they solicit funds by sending out letters to donors to tell them fabricated "urgent needs" when the leader later admitted there are no such needs and the funds collected were sitting who knows where. The benefits team would lie to you by making policies up when you try to utilize a benefit, and there is absolutely no one to hold them accountable. Many of their practices are bluntly illegal. I'm honestly shocked that this is a so-called Christian organization. I won't be surprised if their 501C3 status is revoked one day. If you are considering joining Cru, please take this as your warning and run as far as you can.

I've worked for Cru for 46 years and never seen any of what you are referring to. I've been in HR for 20 of those years, and also not dealt with the kinds of concerns you are raising. Our integrity means a great deal to us, and obviously you've had some experiences that have caused you concern. If you'd like to talk about the specifics of your concerns, we'd be happy to follow up. You may want to begin by sharing your concerns with your HR team.

Pros

There are many pros to working with Cru. Great people and great teams doing great work in the lives of students at the campuses where they serve. You really get to know fellow coworkers well, and feel connected doing ministry together. You also get to witness firsthand what God is doing. Cru also provides good support and flexibility for needs - whether it be mental health considerations, having children, or needing help on the job. There is also great training provided for the role.

Cons

Support raising can be challenging, even with support and training. National seems to be a little disconnected from campus teams at times.
