Pros

Many of the people out in the shop are very nice to work with. They occasionally bring in food trucks or catered meals (but don't eat the tacos... nearly everyone who did ended up sick). Some employees are allowed to work somewhat flexible hours.

Cons

Although they offer sick pay, it seems to be only at the discretion of the manager - he told me I wasn't sick; therefore, no sick pay. He made me waste my vacation pay instead. When I was hired, I was told I would be driving a forklift, but after nearly a year, management couldn't be bothered to train me, so I couldn't drive a forklift (even though I've been driving one for well over twenty years). His excuse was that current employees needed retrained first. Whatever... If you're not part of the "good ol boys club", then don't bother offering suggestions to make things run smoother because they'll just look at you like you have two heads. The owner flaunts all of his money by buying and showing off his expensive sports cars while the shop employees are held at the same pay year after year with no hope of any raise at all... unless you're part of the "good ol boys club", of course. Employees don't have any reason to try harder because it does no good. Don't expect HR to know anything or be able to answer your questions. She couldn't even answer simple questions about the insurance plan. And, don't expect to have safe, off-street parking... those spaces are reserved for the special employees. The grunts have to park on the street where your car could be vandalized or hit while you're hard at work.
