Pros
The company has been through some org shifts and typical growing pains for a fast moving, innovative company. I see these changes as natural and a good sign for the most part. It seems like we are making strategic efforts to hire quality candidates who can bring in a fresh perspective and quickly pick up where the gap is, props to our HR team. I love the sense of unity within the company, we're all working towards a common goal of solving a problem that has never been accomplished. I feel so grateful to have joined the team at Cruise with great benefits and an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful future. I've also been lucky that my team was quick to embrace me and have a good working relationship. There has been some surprising changes but upper management seems to have clarity on quarterly goals and how ICs can contribute. I am given the autonomy and platform to leverage my experience and skills to grow professionally.
Cons
Finding a work/life balance can be difficult seeing that we are still working towards perfecting tools and processes internally. I can also see for those who have been around through so many changes feeling "burnt out," but that's a common experience among many others in tech. I don't think any of the Cons are unique to the company.
