Pros

1. Joining as a manager, I have found that there is genuine support of managers and how important your role is to ensuring your team is successful. Cruise provides additional training and resources as well as holding you accountable to developing your staff. 2. Actions speak louder than words and so far the actions speak volumes. Starting with a generous benefits package (including unlimited PTO) and the open communication around everything that is going on in the company. 3. We are going to have an amazing 2022 with highly focused goals that I think means huge opportunity to grow here. Additionally the company is hiring some really strong talent that demonstrates the focus on growth.

Cons

People seem to be afraid of structure. Within my org, meetings don't seem to go longer than 30 minutes or people can't concentrate on the topic. I think this will change over time but it can be frustrating for someone who has worked at a very large company before. Being a remote employee (not based in SFO) means you have to work twice as hard to build relationships. There doesn't seem to be strategy yet on WFH employees. If you work outside of PST timezone be aware that you will need to support PST first.
