Pros
Networking with guests, gym use
Cons
The particular crunches I worked for in Southern CA did not promote from within, rather would hire former colleagues/friends of other fitness facilities with completely different company "values" than crunches. Basically rules for these not for me type of environment. -More work and clientele to deal with if you are bilingual/multilingual without the same pay or less than those who only knew one language and would do the bare minimum whether it was a lead role or assistant management. -Management/staff was unprofessional overly flirting with clientele, adding gym goers to their social media, discussing lewd behavior regarding the circle of people they would interact with to "brag" or show a false sense of achievement to coworkers/other guests. -Contrary to the no judgements mantra, individuals like myself and others who were of non Caucasian origin would be sidelined and not given opportunities to grow in upper management, rather would let unqualified individuals with hardly any tenure or seriousness for their job title be given more pay and positions of authority. -Unrealistic goals for sales/personal training packages to be sold. -Upper management would not delegate rules, instead would have other employees who had more sense of composure and tact to deal with member issues/complaints. No sense of leading from the front. -Internal complaints often ignored, not handled with professionalism. -Younger employees would not show professionalism within workspace. Would blatantly be on social media, unnecessarily text, have non work appropriate conversations, ignore guests as they check in. Would bring this up to management, and of course they could care less as they had "Favorites. " Basically the clubs were ran like a middle school/highschool bully filled with drama and a sense of irritation constantly going to work knowing things would not change as upper management could care less. The behavior and experience/s was specifically for th parkway mall/Plaza Bonita locations which ironically are no longer in business.
