Pros
There are none. Employees are not valued
Cons
The manager used me like his own personal errand girl. I was given no training what so ever and was told to open the gym on the first day without anyone but me there, no uniform or onboarding documents/policies were provided to me. I ended up training myself to the best of my ability. There were no chairs or stools provided. Front desk attendants were required to stand for 7+ hours at a time and would get in trouble for sitting down. The manager forced me to work a 3 hour shift with food poisoning, I was throwing up in the bathroom the whole shift but he refused to allow me to leave and became hostile whenever I asked to be allowed to go home. On the day I quit entirely I had twisted my ankle the night before and it had swollen to twice it's size, it was immobile and I could hardly walk on it without horrible pain let alone work. I was still required to come in and open. I worked for 4 hours before the manager came in. At that time my ankle was increasing getting worse. I had called my physician and they told me I needed to go to an Urgent care ASAP to make sure the problem wouldn't worsen. At that time they were concerned it was broken. I told my manager this and he became angry with me. Told me he could make an exception and I could sit for the shift but I was not allowed to go to Urgent Care or seek a doctor until after my shift had ended. I was half way through a 7 hour shift. I began to cry due to the pain I was in. This only pissed him off more. I had to txt another manager to call him and convince him to let me leave early. I had already put in my 2 weeks but after the incident I resigned before leaving. I was diagnosed with a very bad sprain (Luckily It wasn't a break) but still ended up with crutches and a boot. The physician was shocked I had managed for as long as I did without medical help
