Pros
Once you showed your professional work ethics, you and your efforts will get highly recognized and appreciated, no matter you are women or men! CTL just makes it right for everyone. It can never be easy to find a great job in engineering field under depressed economic conditions in more recent years, harder for a woman, let alone to a newly-graduate international female student. But I made it with the generous supports from CTL! CTL is willing to offer the great opportunities for whoever has the right attitude, providing training in various aspects of career building and business development as long as you are willing to work hard and learn more. The parts I like the company the best, it's the people I'm working with. It can be very annoying to train a new guy, but none of them has ever shown any impatience and ignorance for all my naive questions. When I got problems in the field, I know I can always get help by making a single call to whoever in the department! When I screwed up something and felt terribly guilty, our director of the department said 'we were with you, remember? We got your back! Focus on work, I will take care of your mess.' Am I too lucky to have such a loving and caring team? At least I know I can't ask for more.
Cons
Our building is kind of a maze, I need to go through at least 3-4 doors before got out or into the building, frequently being hand full plus a giant bag of equipments. I feel spoiled because people followed me all the way down or up the stairs and opened every door for me, even people from other departments that I haven't got the chance to know them. The problem is I definitely need more muscle!
