Pros

Cubic is a collection of smaller companies through acquisitions and that's the charm of it. Lots of small cultures who can come together to really produce products and services faster than bigger companies. Depending on where you land you'll be joining a small pocket that has its own culture and performance methods. So really, the three stars is because it's not one company, their is no constant. The only constant is the Corporate culture which I'll describe in the cons below.

Cons

The Corporate culture stinks. Due to COVID business impacts the company froze 401K matching and merit raises (pay raises) until October 2021. But then went on to have a record 4th Quarter business. It's public knowledge, look up the earnings that were reported. That's a major way to lose the trust of your employees. The Corp front office said one thing "freezing benefits to not lay people off" then went on to have a record fourth quarter and provided ZERO raises to the people who worked their butts off to enable that to happen and are going to keep everyone at their pay levels until October 2021. That's a bad Corporate team. No understanding of the messages it tells employees, and it gives no incentive for employees to be working as hard as they do to make the company have a record quarter.

Pros

My manager was awesome. Job was diverse and creativity was welcomed. Salary was pretty good, even if I was technically doing two types of positions. Co-workers were also good, some great, actually. Work life balance was also pretty good. All credit to that goes to my manager and the managers I've had before my last one.

Cons

In the end, my loyalty seemed to not be valued. My hard work showed and I met deadlines before the due date. Only called in sick when actually sick, and hardly took time off. The thing that bothered me the most was the way they laid me off. Group Teams video meeting, but the person giving us the news was not on video. Just a black screen, telling you that was your last day and that after that meeting your access will be cut off. And it was. I almost felt like an email would've been better than that black screen. That is really the only time I felt bad about the way things went. I know corporate life brings in the usual fiscal year layoffs, but it just felt wrong the way it was done, in my opinion.
