Pros

For the Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer, CW's Emergent Operations group, located in Shelby, NC, offers exciting work, well-maintained state of the art equipment and daily technical challenges. Quick-response, high-mix low-volume machining and full processing of aerospace components keeps a very interesting workload. Peers within the group are affable co-workers. Pay is competitive, but beware of "bait and switch" tactics by HR with regards to relocation promised and sign-on bonuses.

Cons

Being a business unit less than 4 years operational, it has had its challenges formulating smooth operational best practices. Directorship and management within the EO Group have been with the business unit since inception, are favored son's of executive management, and have plagued the progress from day one. Stats do not lie...5 of 6 Manufacturing Engineers have left the organization since the beginning of 2015. Since the onset of the group, an approximate 300% turn-over rate has maintained. The single constant variable is (poor) management. One last warning..the corporate Ethics Hot Line is a tool to get you fired as quick as possible...BEWARE..!!

Pros

Staff appreciate the job stability, good pay/benefits relative to the Aerospace & Defense industry, and highly professional engineering teams. Many report a strong sense of purpose and trust in their immediate colleagues.

Cons

On the downside, some reviewers cite a top-heavy, process-oriented management structure, occasional disjointed communication across departments, and strict, high-pressure deadlines.
