Pros

- A bit higher payment compared to other industries in Taiwan. (You may rethink your plan to work in Taiwan if you are from another country) - More complete company rules and systems, at least in Taiwan.

Cons

- High junior staff turnover. - Involuntary overtime working. The working time on the labor contract states 9:00 to 18:00 with an hour lunch break time. However, the department supervisor will tell you the working time is 9 to 19 with 2 hours break time due to their "unspoken rules". In fact, no one takes their break time but they are still working at lunchtime for 1.5~2 hours full time every day. Also, some juniors are still at work at 20:00 or further. - No possibility to apply for overtime payment. Even the company has a clear rule about it. - Centralized management. You always have to guess the thoughts of your supervisors, and they don't want to communicate with subordinates about immediate development difficulties. - Unclear rules for promotion and salary increase. - Incompletely implemented internal controls, such as GDPR and data security of staff and customers. Even they claim they have done them. - All supervisors in this department are male and some of them have talked about female job candidates' appearance and have made fun of each other who of them seems to "like the girl" in the department's public area. - Workload imbalance between "men and women" and "younger ladies". (Very classic bias but it exists in this company.)

Pros

One of the best SW development teams in the world with the ability to turn ideas into reality quickly. Leadership is open to feedback and new ideas. Great work/life balance and they offer benefits with 401K match.

Cons

Main office is located in Taiwan so will need to deal with departments located in a different time zone.

Pros

- ISV leader in PC OEM business, but PC industry is weak - Talented and hard working engineers. Great support team in Taiwan - Colleagues are hard working A Taiwanese company run like a small cap company with 100 employees. Top exec oversees every little detail.

Cons

- Too cheap - Traditional ways of management, found back in the 1960s - clueless on marketing and branding in the US - Control freaks One of the mission statement goals is FRUGALITY. This says it all!! CL admits they are cheap. Promotions are non-existent unless you slave away 12-14 hours a day and listen to CEO's wishes 100%. For marketing, uses strange English names to market English locales or incorrect words to market to European locales. Top execs don't listen to those in charge of their locale.
