Pros

- Working for Cyracom is not an ordinary job. You get paid to learn, I was a part of medical calls, financial calls, legal calls, insurance and etc. and the amount of knowledge I have gained/learned is unbelievable. - Flexible schedules. - Clean break area, clean washroom - Seasonal decorations. Depends on the upcoming holiday, they will decorate the center to bring joy and delight to the eye. - Great management, great leadership. They will do all they can to make the interpreter happy (or at least they did for me) -Monthly game tournaments. You can volunteer to participate and they will allocate some time for you to even get paid for those minutes away from the phone and keep your break and lunch for yourself. If you win the tournament, you will receive a generous gift card (money card) two time winner myself - woohoo!! - Your team will be like a family, they care for you and help you to succeed. You will become a part of something bigger, more meaningful. - Multi-cultural environment yet very welcoming. - A very kind and interpersonal center manager who treats everybody with respect regardless of their job title (very rare to come by in NYC).

Cons

There are no downsides for working at QNC. I had to leave Cyracom because I was moving from NYC, didn't really have much of a choice. I met so many great people there and made many friends who I intend to keep for a very long time and so the heartwarming memories. When I came across this interesting review, I decided to write a reply for all the CONS listed in there.. - Yes. No windows but their ventilation system is very efficient. They keep the temperature at a certain degree because they have over 100 computers (maybe even more by now) that are constantly on and running and they need to prevent the overheating of their machines. It is always advisable to have a light jacket with you if you are working in a call center environment. My primary care's office always remind me to bring a jacket when I have an appointment since their office is very chilly, imagine that!!!! - It is called a "contact center" for a reason. Employees are in somewhat close contact with each other on daily basis since the cubicles are build right next to each other. There are over 30 Purell (hand sanitizer) dispensers mounted on the poles inside the floor and always kept replenished. If your kid gets sick, do you call up the school and blame every child and the school's germy environment over your child's flu?! Yeah, didn't think so. - Corrective action over coughing the wrong way???!!!! Come on now!!! Are we even talking about the same place here? I switched supervisors/teams 3 times and I was never once told that I need to cough in certain way or I can't cough in a certain way. I followed what my supervisor asked me to, minded my own business and never was threatened and felt like I am in prison. - I asked my supervisor to give me a copy of their employee book (like their policy book) and I read it cover to cover, I knew that I can talk to my neighbors if we are not on the phone and waiting but if we are on the phone, the slightest distraction was unwelcomed since we had to provide the excellent customer service to the clients. -If your own poor hygiene regimen led your supervisor to educate you on how to wash your hands after using the bathroom or how to flush after yourself (I know, NASTY!), don't think it would be too brilliant to mention it here in your review. And since you mentioned culture, I believe any culture would greatly appreciate your supervisor to do your parents' job for them! -Yes, there are a lot of CCTVs installed inside of the center. I was told in training that they are for security purposes. Not my place to question the means and if I am doing no wrong why would I worry who is watching. For all I saw when I was there, the management was far too busy to grab some snacks, unbuckle and watch the cameras to catch people!! - They had (maybe still do) these monthly tournaments that were voluntarily and if you wanted to participle you could, no pressure. They would put us on meeting time to play(if we were participating) so we can get paid and keep our break and lunch. They would reward the winners (I already mentioned this in my PROs list) with very generous gift cards. I am not talking a pity 10$ gift card, by generous I mean over 50$. - I remember we had monthly food days and supervisors would serve us. Every month is was different, Mexican food, Greek food, Chinese food, etc.. Then they would plate and wrap the left overs so if anyone wants a second serving, can just grab it or take it home, it was pretty efficient and sanitary. I know for a fact that they had food days in all the centers and every time it was just simply a token of appreciation form the employer and for you to come and say “They use food to buy staff to like the company" is just pure EVIL. - I am a human of color myself and your comment here in not only RACIST but it comes from a place of regret. I had to leave this company for personal reasons but for whatever reason you left, I bet they won't hire you back no matter how hard you cry (hmm, I meant TRY). - I never had DAILY meetings with the Management nor did my coworkers sitting on my left or right!! I would come to work, clock in, take calls, clock out and done till the next time I pick that phone up. You said you were better at taking calls or working! As Interpreters WORKING solely meant taking calls unless you just gave away what type of position you held there which only proves the magnitude of your wretched being.

Pros

In all of my professional career, the IT work here is the most laid back I have ever been with. Sadly, the fun was short-lived after we were sold out when the company was acquired by its rival Propio. They laid off the entire IT folks, dismantling this competition, retaining only less than ten from the whole organization. But it was a pleasure while it lasted. Too bad because their folks were easy going and management is mediocre but I learned a lot, plus it was what I needed in my situation, where I had to multitask working while taking care of personal matters, so it was a bonus.

Cons

Nothing really complicates my tenure here except some projects are really slow in implementation, lacking clear requirements and at some point I was shoved into something where there was really no discussion at all about a project and you just have to dig into it but I have experience so it was no sweat for me at all. There was also a point where I heard a lie about a project being complete but when I started working on it I just realized it was not even started at all and the other is not even deployed or existing so there you go I just had to keep silent and work on completing it. Plus Propio conned us by giving us false hope into thinking we get severance pay but it is not really severance pay instead they just tapped into the our state unemployment benefit and made it look like it is a severance pay. Unemployment benefit is not severance pay.
