Pros

The general belief that patient care is above all things is real and the Administration really tries to keep this mindset in the front of all things. The location is FANTASTIC! Everything you could want... but you can get across town in less than 35 minutes.

Cons

The only hospital in town and there is virtually no comprehension outside of the organization as to what industry standards are. While good people, the Administration has failed to keep up in many areas. The pay scales are a very long way from typical for many employees, infrastructure is literally like stepping into 1990, staffing levels are less than "thin", and the documentation system has been customized to "work" when it should not. Some of the mid level management needs to go head and retire or catch up to the 21st century. Providers are allowed to have crap attitudes, in public view, and are treated as if there are not other providers that could be brought on board that do not act like jackasses in the hall. Other hospitals I have been with would have walked some of these people right out the door! Much of the staff and management have literally never been at another facility or area and have not clue one as to how things can be done to create a better environment for employees and patient alike. Nor are they very willing to accept what they see - or even look - at other facilities of equal size.

Pros

To be honest there isn’t many pros about this place. The best thing is probably the few coworkers I like and maybe the night shift differential

Cons

They do not care about safe staffing at all. We have lost almost 20 employees just on nights since our new manager took over and they say our productivity isn’t enough to hire. Yet we have 7 nurses on night shift and they refuse to pull from days. The pay isn’t enough to live off of which is part of why I can’t leave right now. They do nothing to take up for us and would rather take the doctors side than speak up. They turn a blind eye to nurses who literally endanger patients but yet will give us a coaching for the wrong shoes.
