Pros
Leadership seems to have a sincere desire to make positive and lasting changes. Fellow employees are supportive and the work environment is positive. My boss supports trying new things and because of that we have made significant changes to make the care and environment better for our patients. Upper management has done a great job of communicating with employees and the community during this pandemic.
Cons
DCH is the sole community provider for inpatient care so there is nothing local (other than hospitals an hour away) to compare to. In part, this creates negative community comments. Also, the facilities are older. Ongoing updates can be seen throughout but rooms designed decades ago don't have the same visual appeal as those of brand new hospitals. While the pay is fair, benefits such as time off accrue at a much slower rate than other hospitals I have worked at.
