Pros

Great company to start at to get a foothold into the Oil & Gas industry. There are many very experienced and tenured employees that can be open and share industry/company knowledge. Incentives are not based on poor employee review system.

Cons

No management training takes place, generally only a select few employees get promoted or are even promised a promotion. Generally a department transfer is given as the only option which results in starting from zero and requiring "lots of feathers in your cap" to even begin the conversation. Actual work output quality is irrelevant to reviews. Many of the talented people that get brought in leave the company due to over-promising, under-delivering management style. Typically promotions only occur at the Director level, managers and below have little to no chance of receiving a promotion without moving to Midland or Houston.
