Pros

Where do I start?! I have been working for DCS for a little over a year & a half & I have enjoyed every minute of it. From the time I got hired on I had a feeling I was in good hands. This company is employee owned, they are still small enough that leadership seems to care about each & every employee no matter where you are located. The leadership does a great job of keeping the lines of communication open regarding everything like contract extensions, etc. They also are very personable & go above & beyond to make you feel welcomed or apart of the team. The benefits aren't bad, for example, the dental insurance is really good. After spending the last 14 yrs with different DoD contractors I can honestly say DCS is by far the best contracting company I have worked for.

Cons

Not as much leave as we see the civilians get but that comes with being a contractor honestly.

Pros

Solid work-life balance. I rarely worked late and all of my projects had distant deadlines. The projects I worked on were pretty relaxed and informal, i.e. a client would ask for support on some project and I'd provide it, no code reviews, agile boards, etc.

Cons

The pay increase schedule is a fairly generous annual adjustment (5-6%) but there's no pay bump for title changes so that's all you get. Additionally, the culture of my team at least didn't really promote career growth or skill learning. My manager gave me a lot of freedom to work as independently, but the tradeoff of that is that I didn't gain experience with code reviews, stand-ups, Agile, etc. Not as important if you already have a lot of experience under your belt but something to consider for a junior engineer.
