Pros

Got hired basically on the spot. Easy enough to learn. They match 401K dollar for dollar up to 4%.

Cons

Health benefits like most places gets more and more expensive every year. You reach top rate after 4 years of employment. After that it doesn't pay to stay. They give us lump sum bonuses every year instead of a raise. $500 before taxes, it equaled out to about 1 1/2% if you worked 40 hour weeks for 52 weeks. You don't get a 3rd week of vacation until after 5 years and then you don't get a 4th till you've been here 15 years. Management is filled with a bunch of skirt chasers who have their favorites. Communication is horrible. Trying to apply for other warehouses is a joke. If you're office, you usually don't get the job. They're doing away with their Welcome Centers (shipping and receiving) and bringing in a security company to do the exact same job that I've been doing for over 10 years. The ironic thing is that they did one of their employee opinion surveys- which is a joke and the next day they told us they were eliminating our jobs. The bad thing is that certain people knew we were losing our positions a whole year before we found out and never told us. Those people made sure they got back inside the warehouse to protect their jobs. Exel was actually going to elimate our positions sooner, but after helping them move into a new warehouse they decided to hold off until things got settled down and up and running. HR told me to go to computer school if I want an office position or go into the warehouse. On top of us losing our position, they actually expect us to train the security people who are taking our jobs. They take on entirely too much work and force their employees to work constant overtime on the weekends. This was after they made them go from working 8 hour days 5 days a week to working 4-10 hour days in an effort to eliminate mandated overtime. I am now in the process of applying at new jobs and hoping that losing my job is really a blessing in disguise.

Pros

Steady full-time work, decent pay, and several years of warehouse and order-selection experience.

Cons

During my years at this facility, I experienced ongoing workplace problems that I believed included harassment, discrimination, and unfair treatment. I reported serious concerns to management and human resources, but I did not believe they were handled properly or consistently. Near the end of my employment, I was told not to clock in after giving notice and dealing with approved medical and leave-related issues. I have pursued formal legal remedies concerning my treatment.
