Pros

I worked in the footwear department. Often, sales reps would have contests and we were able to win free shoes and footwear items. Sometimes they were just given to us for free to wear and promote their products.

Cons

Very low pay. Annual raises are so low they are almost nonexistent. They expect you to work as if you are making 20 dollars an hour when you are making half that, if you are lucky. Expectations are too high for the level of pay.

Pros

It's fun to interact with athletes and help them achieve their goals.

Cons

As with any part-time job in this economy today, hourly pay for part-timers is so much lower that the cost of living. Just to cover my internet access each month (which is now considered an essential living cost), it takes 6 hours of work. For the minimal increase in hourly pay if I took a full-time job at DSG, I wouldn't be able to cover even 70% of my living expenses (housing, food, transport, internet, phone). It's a sobering thought as we navigate this country's massive wealth disparity.
