Pros

Clean stores, good training, reasonably good product lines in most departments. Coworkers are friendly for the most part and usually well selected. Good emphasis on teamwork.

Cons

Employee purchase programs have been severely curtailed in recent months. Excessively elaborate management hierarchy creates excessive overhead thus severely curtailing lower level pay, and makes communication structure difficult. Very bad name among the outdoor/shooting sports industry for abandoning vendors and product lines, taking an adverse stance against the customer base, then insulting them with a false explanation for doing so and without apology.

Pros

- Unlimited PTO with 401k match is awesome

Cons

- Performance expectations were often unclear or inconsistently communicated, Feedback was reactive instead of timely and actionable. - Leadership quality varied dramatically by manager, with limited coaching or mentorship. - Constant shifting priorities without adjusting expectations or workload. - Psychological safety was lacking, Honest communication feel risky. - Leadership messaging around culture didn't match day-to-day reality. - Process was often valued more than impact or results. - Compensation well below market, w/little flexibility during negotiations. - I felt excluded from key conversations and opportunities that were important to my success.
