Pros

Coworkers are usually fun, they're what makes the environment bearable. If you're in college/high school it's decent for extra money.

Cons

If you're in it for a business administration career-type thing, wouldn't recommend it. The way management conducts things is interesting at best. Schedules, at least at the store I work at, aren't posted until the day or two days before that particular scheduled week starts, then you're given heck if there's conflicts. Typical retail cuts hours when budget is overspent, but they give out hours like hotcakes when business is good, not maintaining a proper balance of unforeseen slow days/weeks. Need to pay more attention to happenings around city and adjust accordingly. You're looked at funny if you decide to get another job to supplement that one. Oftentimes there's one person in two departments on a busy weekend, then they get yelled at when things aren't done as they should be.

Pros

Employee Discount Opportunity to provide customers an experience in which they can be confident in buying a new shoe for style, function and support-related reasons. Great selling tools, devices and display fixtures to work with

Cons

This is not really a con since I believe it is an important part of the job. Newer and current workers may need to keep up up to date and do research on products in order to be able to help customers effectively and efficiently.
