Pros

The associates make it worth it. Use to be a great company to work for. Ed stack you need to get tuned in to the west coast stores.

Cons

Skeleton crew No hours given Everyday is ran on a "whim" Corporate micro manages with changes everyday No consistency with the district managers Pay as a promoted manager is too low compared to new hires Operational processes are in the Stone Age All this is coming from an associate who started from the bottom and worked his way up to management. I use to be so proud to say I worked for this sporting goods store but now that things are changing I'm ashamed of it.

Pros

It's fun to interact with athletes and help them achieve their goals.

Cons

As with any part-time job in this economy today, hourly pay for part-timers is so much lower that the cost of living. Just to cover my internet access each month (which is now considered an essential living cost), it takes 6 hours of work. For the minimal increase in hourly pay if I took a full-time job at DSG, I wouldn't be able to cover even 70% of my living expenses (housing, food, transport, internet, phone). It's a sobering thought as we navigate this country's massive wealth disparity.
