Pros
Techs are great. pay is OK as long as you can advance quickly. tools and equipment is the best in the business.
Cons
Work in all weather for as long as the boss wants to keep you out. 12 hours a day are average 14-16 are possible. A lot of driving or time in your van, you are paid for this time at your normal rate however time not working counts against your Points Per Hour that affects your bonus pay and promotion ability. it will be your fault if a customer calls in to dish within 12 days of your visit for a service call ( TC 12) REGARDLESS of the reason IE Dish equipment falls . This also will affect bonus and promotion. You truly have no control of you own destiny, it is based on luck not skill. if you complain another lifeless drone will be eager to take your place and your name will not be spoken again. I have seen many great Techs leave or be forced to leave over these issues. Why dish can not see the value of their employees is hard to understand. This is a great job if only management cared at ALL about the front line.
