Pros

Glassdoor HR did a great job selling how great the culture at this company is. Work hard, play hard, etc. There are some great benefits - Unlimited PTO, every other Friday off, working remote, and a fantastic salary. There are some really great people who work there and keep things positive, it’s those ones I enjoyed working with.

Cons

As long as you are doing well, don’t rock the boat too much and are liked, there’s no issues. If you do something that bothers leadership, you’ll be quickly on a path to be pushed out. I saw it happen to many people who were hard workers but also those who they hired poorly. I was a person who got pushed out when I no longer met the ever changing standards. I had a great relationship with one of the executives my whole time there, until the last month. It was a horrible process and I don’t wish it upon anyone. From the day I started until the day I left, it was chaos. The marketing and executive leadership was constantly changing, leaving teams confused and without direction. New leaders came in, changed the plans and technology stack then would get fired or left. It really felt like a revolving door of people coming and going. It left most of the team feeling a lack of confidence in the hiring process and overall direction for the teams. They promote a culture of openness and letting SMEs do their job since they know best but that’s not the case. Leadership stifles the creativity of the technical workers who actually do the day to day job. I tolerated a lot of drama and unnecessary stress in my life for a year and a half, I told myself I could stomach it because of the high salary and extra time off. But no company is worth the toll it puts on your body and relationships. I’m happier for being gone.

DNSFilter Response

Thank you for your feedback and for pointing out that DNSFilter has constantly changing requirements. For avoidance of doubt, DNSFilter is absolutely a startup. A top tier, high performing startup. For some people, it’s great because you’re going to get compensated highly. We also have amazing benefits and (as you mentioned) a lenient time off policy - as we trust our employees to maintain the balance necessary to do their job well. That being said, the startup environment does have (as you stated) ever changing requirements and moves/adapts/changes often multiple times per year. That doesn’t suit everyone and we’re aiming to do a better job highlighting the tradeoffs. All that being said, thanks again for the feedback and for the time and effort you dedicated while at DNSFilter. We’re glad to hear you’re in a good place now and wish you the best. - Ken (CEO, DNSFilter)

Pros

I had an outstanding experience with DNSFilter from start to finish. The interview process was straightforward, transparent, and genuinely enjoyable. Everyone I met was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and excited about the work they’re doing. The onboarding was thorough and well organized, making it easy to feel set up for success right away. The sales team especially stands out — amazing, supportive, friendly, and truly team-oriented. There’s a strong sense of community across the organization, and the office has such a lively, positive energy that makes coming to work something you actually look forward to. I genuinely feel like I’ve found my home here. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Pros

DNSFilter is a place for people who want to be challenged, grow quickly, and make a real impact. The mission is meaningful, the people are smart, and there is a strong culture of candid feedback and continuous improvement. Leadership encourages debate, listens to good ideas regardless of title, and is willing to adapt when presented with better information. Those who embrace the challenge tend to thrive.

Cons

This environment is not for everyone. Expectations are high, accountability matters, and ideas are regularly challenged. People looking for a slower-paced environment or constant validation may find the culture uncomfortable. Like any growing company, there are growing pains and changes in priorities as the business scales.
