Cons

The CEO is distant and uncaring of the cronyism within the Senior Management staff level as well as its trickled down effect to its on site Managers. This has damaged DRT Strategies reputation within the Federal workspace. Appointing friends and associates to positions of Management without proper regard for their qualifications has caused missed deadlines, unpaid rework, animosity, and resentment among the employees that are on site with the clients. The CEO turns a blind eye to the negative online reviews as well as direct complaints made to HR. A few years ago, the CEO hired several different department heads (Talent Management, HR, CIO, etc.) to "clean up the mess" and restore DRT Strategies online reputation. The cronyism is so pervasive among the Senior Management staff that eventually, every single department head (except the Talent Manager) quit because they could not affect any change within DRT’s Senior Management staff. DRT Strategies practice of cronyism/favoritism has significant, negative impact beyond potential legal implications; cronyism/favoritism that DRT Strategies Management foster is not allowing DRT Strategies to grow faster within the Federal sector’s and is causing DRT Strategies to lose money and good people. Overlooking skilled employees for promotions and raises because they are not participants within Management's cronyism is not beneficial to DRT's company culture. By not treating every employee equally, DRT Strategies Management nurtures a sense of separation that can de-motivate employees, damage team unity; while leading to other employees to believe their efforts, no matter how good, will not be recognized and that the yardstick for success has nothing to do with performance.

Thank you for your 5 years of service to DRT. The company has significantly grown within that period and you were obviously part of that success. Having said that, many of the issues you cite of cronyism and favoritism are not accurate and do not reflect the current culture of DRT. Susan (CEO) is keenly aware of what employees are saying and thinking and actively promotes a culture of care. Currently DRT is being affected by a government shutdown where many of our employees are being impacted by stop work orders. DRT is doing everything possible to try and mitigate our employee's risk, including covering benefits. This demonstrates a caring and engaged CEO and leadership team.

Pros

I enjoy building solutions that are both practical and useful. The projects are interesting and keep me focused. Another big plus is the knowledgeable and supportive team. People share expertise and ideas when there’s a complex issue to tackle. We also have a smooth collaboration with analysts and stakeholders, which makes it easier to work efficiently.

Cons

Flexibility is important here, so be prepared to make quick decisions and adjust your plans as you go.

Pros

Individual project assignments came with clear scope. Management stayed out of the weeds on daily work.

Cons

• Every diversity training session repeated the same message about inclusion, yet nothing in daily operations reflected those promises • The leadership team looked exactly the same as when I was hired despite constant claims about bringing in different perspectives • Candidates from underrepresented backgrounds were hired but received far less mentoring and advancement support than others • Diversity initiatives were heavily advertised during announcement weeks and then completely disappeared once other priorities took over • Leadership positions repeatedly went to people from the same backgrounds despite having qualified candidates from other demographics available
