Pros
I love the Philosophy of our Great CEO. He is awe inspiring. This CAN be the Greatest Company ever with his continued leadership. Working as an Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) member for over 30 years in this field and for many other competitors, I have a wish to remain here until I retire. I feel no other company has trained me and continues to train me for my job better than Davita. ( If you're a patient, Davita is the total package for the best care you can get. I promise you). I would like to see improvements, however, in our area of the country in order for that to happen. Please read on to see what I mean.
Cons
Work/life balance. It's a very, very tough thing to manage. DVA can be very intrusive on your life as they don't give you enough time to do the job they expect from you. Always more work but no more time to do it in. It's Chronic with this company. If you can figure it out, you're better than me. You really have to be a very dedicated professional, have a total passion for what you do and be willing to work hard in this very unique field if you're going to work for DVA. However, when you work hard to meet all the demands of the job and this company, it becomes so very hard to keep that passion alive when you are met up with mid level management that is put in these positions that lack the skills to positively motivate you. It's painful to come to work with every desire to bend over backwards to be of service to your patients, only to be met up with unkind words and threats from these individuals who don't know how to balance people and the bottom line of this company. I believe DVA is a wonderful company to work for but not in S.E. Florida. I hear not all things are equal and DVA life is better in other geographical areas of this company. I hope this is posted as it will help other job seekers when choosing a geographical area to move to and company to work for if they are looking for an IDT dialysis position.
