Pros
The company had a very strong talent pool and the industry is ripe with work. The benefits can be good depending on what your bonus structure is. I had a great group of people in my group all pulling in the same direct.
Cons
Having been a manager at other companies it rather amazing to watch what has happened at this company. The leadership group is quick to assign blame to one group or the other instead of doing a true self reflection on what causes projects to get out of control. There are some individuals that just can’t take “no” for an answer and seem to be determined to torpedo their groups. It’s often the very same people in our leadership group that are the worst “credit vultures” I’ve ever seen. They just fly around not doing much until someone on their team does a good thing. At that point the swoop in to take credit for that person’s work. At any other company I’ve been at this would have been considered bad, but here it seems to be the best way of securing a promotion. Promotions here are based on how well you align with the current batch of leadership. Which for what I have seen basically guarantees bad will be recruiting worse. If something bad happens then it’s equally amusing to watch the cans of Teflon come out. There are some who are in charge of this company that can claim their greatest accomplishments are keeping their jobs despite appalling incompetence and talking their way up the ladder.
