Pros

Let's face it, in this economy, even a basic minimum-wage job might be better than nothing at all. If you can respect the institution it serves as not only an ice-cream shoppe, but a point of nostalgia for older customers (usually in their 50s or 60s) or parents with young children, then it might give you a sense of pride.

Cons

A highly broken chain of command depending on who the local manager/owner is. Unsanitary conditions. High accident rates around equipment and unsafe surfaces. Frequently rude customers. Deteriorating, obsolete technology makes doing one's job more difficult and less efficient.

Pros

-Great coworkers -Decent food -Awesome desserts -Fairly easy to operate fryers and ice cream machinery -Teaches basic math and customer service skills easily transferable to other jobs

Cons

-Rude customers (creepy old men, smokers, demanding/excessive requests, etc) -Entitled regulars (were up at 6 AM daily banging on the doors to be let in and several looked down on employees for working in fast food) -Ice cream bags and drink boxes were a pain to carry -POS system was ok to operate but got complicated at times (would overcharge customers or be difficult to find certain items) -Drive Thru system (headset and speaker) were a pain to operate, especially when customers whispered or when it was raining -Strict and hard to manage Drive Thru time requirements (maximum of 3:30) -Two managers were fired for stealing…
