Pros
Lots of opportunity to work with very expensive assets. i.e. Finite element software, CFD, Mathworks tools, Geomagic 3d scanning, etc.
Cons
Management is going through changes currently. It's unclear how to keep your job at an engineering management level. Most of management has been moved back to Germany. The plan of what is really expected of m management is unclear. My management recently did not resource my projects correctly. Too much was expected and when I asked for help in the form of support of other engineers or hiring an intern or something similar, I received little to no help. This made for a stressful time. I am working to get past this by communicating with my management. I seemed to have gotten through to my management but we will see long term. Danfoss is a big corporation. You get tied up in red tape a lot. Information Technologies (IT) is constantly a barrier and hindrance to getting engineering work done. If you enjoy seeing the fruits of your work and impact on a regular basis and living and dying by being accountable, self-driven, and productive, Danfoss will wear your patience thin. This is why I am starting to think I may need to work for a smaller company and move on but I acknowledge it may fit others better. Pay is low for high performing engineers. I am paid at the 20th percentile. However, I have worked hard for 15 years to be a 95th percentile engineer.
