Pros

The products and processes offer exciting challenges and technical development opportunities. Currently, my direct line supervisor is performing well. The health care benefits are descent.

Cons

There is a high turnover in operations support staff. People leave due to poor leadership, expectations to be on constant call, low annual salary increase, and diminishing short term incentives. Support personnel are expected to attend international meetings at all hours of the day. Leadership is unable to communicate expectations to employees, then tell them they aren't meeting the expectations. There are no efforts to retain technical experts. The ceiling for career growth is very low.

Good work-life balance, decent PTO and benefits, friendly coworkers

Cons

Slow moving in central IT function, many decisions are made by committee, which slows the process way down. Compensation is below average. I have received promotions every 1-2 years for the last 5 years, but advancement in compensation has been very poor. At best it took 10 months to receive a 10% raise commensurate with my promotion. On the worse end, I received almost no salary increase despite my manager, their manager and their manager (our department head) approving the proposed raise.
