Management was friendly, able to work a bunch of hours.

Somewhat unpredictable layoffs. A lot of the staff hardly worked and no one cared.

Not much but if you really really want to, you can read some of these "positive" reviews here. Maybe some of those things are applicable.

Just looking at the fact that there are a lot of negative reviews for a company should notify you of some red flags. The fact that they are an "engaged employer" and having to do damage control on all the negative reviews also speaks volumes about how they are desperate to hide the negative side of the company. My sincerest apologies to whoever was assigned this role of responding to every single negative review. Hopefully you will find success in your career and one day the CEO will actually put some effort into addressing these issues himself instead of asking an employee on the marketing team to do it. The company has a bit of seed funding but machine learning in a healthcare setting is pretty much still not working as well as we would like. I've seen a lot of healthcare providers who aren't as technological get on board with using Dascena's product in their hospital (does something sound weird there?) Personally, I personally had a much more optimistic and positive outlook going into working for them but realized within 2 weeks that this place is good at selling their image but at the end of the day it's just another ratchet "silicon valley" healthcare startup. Metric driven. CEO has pretty high expectations that you can achieve the impossible. There is also very little spending on company employee happiness. Everyone is definitely not paid for what they are worth in the market. Benefits are minimal. There are a lot of reviews about random layoffs--and sadly they are true.
