Pros

Interactions with great colleagues Multinational presence Canteen

Cons

This review aims to provide valuable insights for individuals considering opportunities at Datalogic. For additional perspectives, I recommend connecting with former employees on LinkedIn. It could also be beneficial to assess the company's stock performance, which has seen a significant decline from 2021 to 2024, dropping from 22 to 6. Within the company, there is a prevalent culture of blame rather than a focus on learning from mistakes. Success on the first attempt is highly emphasized, with little regard for employee well-being beyond revenue considerations. Despite the presence of exceptional performers, advancement opportunities based on meritocracy are limited. Recent years have witnessed a notable increase in resignations, leading to a decline in morale among remaining staff. Those adept at navigating internal politics and networking effectively may excel in this environment. Notably, even prestigious events like the Leonardo Da Vinci Patent Award are not immune to political influences, with top patents often linked to specific individuals or teams. Externally, Datalogic appears as a multinational entity listed on the stock exchange. However, internally, it operates more like a family-run business, where key decisions are centralized, causing bottlenecks and frustrations. Urgent matters often lose significance within a short span, leading to a lack of clear direction and constant competition chasing. Autonomy within the company is minimal, if not entirely absent. The HR department seems non-existent, with little to no care for employee welfare. While I lack direct interactions with the CEO, Valentina Volta, observations suggest a departure in leadership style compared to her father, the company's founder. The effectiveness of her direct reports is also questionable based on outcomes. These observations are presented objectively, though personal impressions may vary. In conclusion, prospective candidates should carefully evaluate before pursuing opportunities at Datalogic. It is advised to thoroughly consider the implications before making any decisions. Your informed decision-making is crucial.

Pros

Excellent R&D department with innovative products and solutions. Technology copied by competitors with larger marketing budget. Customer first culture!

Cons

Lack of Marketing budget and tools. Because the products are so good the expectation is that they will "Sell themselves". The reality is human behavior does not always follows the best technology, but the most "shiny one" even if it is subpar.
