Pros

The group of individuals I worked with were great and were were always trying to find the positive in the changing environment within David Weekley.

Cons

There are so many. The project managers and district managers are so unsupportive to those they manage, they are the cause of the growing high turnover. They have lost the values and integrity that David Weekley himself built the company on. There are lack of incentives for the employees because they rely strictly on the customer surveys in which the customers/homesowner are aware of and they hold it against the sales, builders, and warranty personnel so they may get additional free items for their homes. The project managers always side with the homeowners which leads to no credibility and the present homeowners always inform future homeowners that all they have to do is send a bad surveyor go above the staff directly to project managers. The worse issue is the greed which is running rampant with the project managers and above because of the incentive of a all expense trip to Hawaii. How embarrassing as a company.

Pros

amazing culture, and you're usually treated like a business owner thats not micromanaged. I got the job when I was in my early 20s, and they trusted me with alot and let me fail and learn. profit sharing is great when you get it, but recently the housing market has been horrible so nobody is getting it. My PM is great and he makes sure I know that he's on my side. Training is great too - they make sure everyone is ot only up to date on new building knowledge, but they constantly invest in our knowledge base so we are all performing at our best. Upper management is also amazing. they are not on their high horse and unapproachable, and they genuinely care about their team.

Cons

You've heard it a thousand times on this page. The pay sucks, at least when compared to other builders. I'm single with no big payments or dependants, so I'm fine for now. However, I've heard other builders with different companies getting paid literally twice as much as me even with my bonuses, and I'm one of the top builders in the city when it comes to build time. Your satisfaction level also depends on the PM you have - mine is great, but others are heavy micromanagers that don't let you do a thing without their approval. They also put a massive emphasis on surveys, and there is zero tolerance for even irrational buyers. They say "that's why our goal is 90%", but that mentality is unfortunately not put into practice.
