Pros

Good direct leadership for individual contributors. Professional Development opportunities for those young in their careers (depends on if you can take advantage of it from position workload).

Cons

I was given a minor bonus in a paycheck without any notice from leadership to expect it. It should have been warranted after the team I was on, saw our workload increase by nearly 300% from the previous year with the same headcount and better delivery metrics. After checking with my direct lead, they checked on it and told me that the bonus was indeed for me. A month later, leadership in finance reached out to me telling me I had to give it back because it was an admin error and planned on taking it all out of one paycheck. Which, they then docked from my next two paychecks. This wouldn't have been such an issue if the company was transparent about pay (they are not whatsoever), and paid market value salaries. They go so far as to even change the title of a position so it's less valuable on the market (ie. Tech services vs Tech support). I was one of the most respected members of my team and was being paid under 55k. The bonus wouldn't have been as big of a deal if it wasn't nearly 2% of my annual salary as well or literally ANYONE on the exec team reached out to me directly to talk about it. Not a single member of the team ever apologized for the accident. TLDR: Management will try to sweep issues under the rug, owned by Private Equity firms that do NOT care about employee satisfaction or if their employees are making livable wages (aka can comfortably afford a 1 bed 1 bath apt in their area), pay salaries well below market value, an executive team that tries to sell normal business ops as perks (I was told a number of times, a perk it being able to direct message our CEO)

Pros

Most people care a lot. And try to make the best of the miserable environment.

Cons

The culture is toxic from the top down. Leadership creates an environment of constant chaos, shifting priorities, and little accountability, leaving employees to absorb the consequences. Management by fear is accepted and, at times, seems to be embraced. The company continues acquiring businesses with little apparent planning for how those acquisitions will be integrated into the broader organization. Rather than building scalable processes first, existing teams are simply expected to absorb additional work while already operating at capacity. The result is an organization that constantly feels reactive instead of intentional. Every day becomes another exercise in putting out fires while being criticized for failing to anticipate priorities that were never clearly communicated. Leadership struggles to establish, communicate, and execute on a coherent strategy, making it difficult to accomplish meaningful work or feel successful. Long-term planning consistently takes a back seat to constantly changing priorities. Concerns about leadership and workplace culture are raised, yet the same patterns continue. Employees are left feeling unsupported, overextended, and increasingly burned out while leadership appears insulated from the impact of its decisions.
