Pros

The canned nature of the curriculum leaves little need for prep. The staff is supportive of adjunct professors.

Cons

The salary is below average for adjuncts and your are categorized as a contractor despite the fact that they dictate the time, place, and manner of the job. This should be categorized as an employee relationship, with DeVry paying their portion of taxes.

Pros

The ALP program was a valuable leadership and professional development experience. I enjoyed connecting with colleagues across the organization, learning from different perspectives, and gaining practical takeaways I could apply in my role. The coaching sessions were especially helpful for reflecting on the content and discussing how to put the learning into practice.

Cons

The six-month program does require a meaningful time commitment, with three-hour content sessions followed by one-hour coaching sessions. At times, balancing the sessions with day-to-day responsibilities can be challenging, so having a dedicated time to fully engage in the program is important.
