Pros

They have a lot of great people on the lower level working for them. It creates a great team environment where you always have a colleague you can rely on when questions come up. They have worked on automating some of the processes that were previously very time consuming. The WFH part is nice as is the pay and they have great health insurance.

Cons

If you want to branch out of admissions it is impossible. They have a tiered ladder in admissions that you can work up and the same ladder structure on the SSA side. But, they don’t have any professional development plan. Unfortunately, the executive team is also very disconnected on how to have one and tries to resolve it like they would for their students. Which makes it seem like they have forgotten how skilled of a workforce they have as a lot of people already have masters.

Pros

The ALP program was a valuable leadership and professional development experience. I enjoyed connecting with colleagues across the organization, learning from different perspectives, and gaining practical takeaways I could apply in my role. The coaching sessions were especially helpful for reflecting on the content and discussing how to put the learning into practice.

Cons

The six-month program does require a meaningful time commitment, with three-hour content sessions followed by one-hour coaching sessions. At times, balancing the sessions with day-to-day responsibilities can be challenging, so having a dedicated time to fully engage in the program is important.
