Pros

The only pro I can think of is that being a private company, they don't have to act according to shareholders. This allows them to pursue opportunities they'd otherwise have to pass on.

Cons

I'm not sure where to start or what all to share honestly. The company was a sinking ship after losing a contract and I transferred companies. I was professional, provided a two-week notice, and offered to help in every way I could. After turning in my notice, I was deceived by my boss, sent a fake lawsuit, and intimidated by my boss' boss. It was actually a little scary, keeping in mind the company's reputation with hiring the mafia back towards its starting days. After I left the company, they slandered my name to my friends that were executives in the company. They reached out to me personally after the fact just to let me know what the top executives were saying about me. It was all lies and horrible things. It was heartbreaking honestly after I gave them 110% effort for 3 or 4 years. Also, Jeremy Jacobs has a terrible reputation within the company for making his employees wait hand and foot on him. The top management all talks poorly behind his back. It's unprofessional and creates a bad environment.

Pros

Good first exposure to client facing roles if no prior exposure. Good for learning to balance technical execution with advisory duties. Good for hands-on experience/learning CRM tools you may not have had prior experience with. Decent benefits. Opportunities to create your own “fun” side projects if you have enough drive to do so.

Cons

Long hours, frequent after-hours/on-call work, including weekends and holidays. Lack of clearly defined process/constantly changing process, making onboarding new hires challenging or educating other departments more difficult. Frequently pivoting business decisions, causing further hiccups in process. Lack of communication. Lack of upward career mobility. Base pay is relatively low. While there are opportunities for raises, chances of promotion are very rare. High stress, high turnover environment that causes scrambling to fill in gaps of lost productivity, causing more pivoting business decisions and revisions of process.
