Pros

-Flight benefits...and only sometimes. Most of the time they have payload optimization which essentially means that you don't get to get on most flights. -Monotonous work if you like that

Cons

-Working conditions are some of the worst that I could imagine. Exhaust, cleanliness, health code, and many other things are so devastating to one's health that there should be federal investigation. -Management couldn't care less how long you've worked there unless it's been over 10 years, and still, even then, good luck with getting ANY promotions. The Ready Reserve program has to be the most abused position in their ranks. They do everything and more. The senior employees rub it in the faces of any new hires. I worked there for 4 years with zero respect or recognition and was told that I wouldn't have an opportunity for moving up until full-time positions opened up...which they said every single quarter. There have been guys there that have worked at Delta for over 18 years and still never got a position to move up in the company. It is basically legalized slavery.

Dear Former Ready Reserve agent- Ensuring a clean, safe and enjoyable work environment is a priority for all Delta Leaders. In fact, the strong Delta culture is one of the key components to our success. It’s imperative that any employee who feels that these ideals are not being followed seek out a leader or HR representative immediately, via our open door policy. While seniority does impact Ready Reserve schedules and bidding, it does not dictate our culture or treating every employee with respect. The Ready Reserve program has seen significant improvements including enhanced pay and benefits over the past few years. In addition, there were 1,308 Ready Reserve employees promoted to full-time in 2015. Many Ready Reserve employees actually forego the opportunity to accept a full-time position because the current program works so well for them. We wish you the best of luck in your endeavors. -Wendy, Talent Acquisition Team

Pros

Awesome company to work for! Fun work environment, cares about employees, great uniforms, competitive pay, just an awesome company to work for! They are very flexible, you can live anywhere in the world you want, as long as your able to get to work when you need to be there!

Cons

At the end of the day, it is a very large corporation. So it is very easy to become just a "number" in the company. The flight attendant group is not unionized, so rules can change very often. Make sure your time management is impeccable, because you cannot be late for work AT ALL, and there aren't many acceptable excuses, even rain is not an excuse.

Thank you for your review and recommendation of Delta. We work hard every day to make Delta a great place to work; it’s nice to hear how much you enjoy our company and our work environment. Our people and our culture are our most important competitive advantages and the direct relationship we have enjoyed with our flight attendants has served our people, our customers and our company very well. To that end, we have a strong open door policy that enables any employee to go directly to a leader with any concerns, and we have hundreds of flight attendants who are actively engaged in our business, providing feedback and working on solutions for their colleagues and our customers. At Delta, a consistent, reliable operation is one of the reasons our top customers come back to fly with us time and again. That makes employee reliability – being on time, every day, for your shift or your flight – especially important. We agree that having a fundamental understanding of the flight attendant role is important for our field leaders, and we also value diversity at all levels of the company. That’s why so many of our field leaders are flight attendant qualified and many still fly when their schedules allow. We appreciate your feedback and will be sharing it with our In-Flight team. –Wendy, Talent Acquisition Team
