Cons
Schedule isn’t horrible if you can stay fully staffed, however, people are promoted quickly so it’s difficult to stay staffed, which means working lots of long days without days off. Company boasts about family values, but that translates to making DMC your family, not having time with your real family. Promotions most often require a relocation that the company does not fully pay for so there can be some financial set back associated with promotion. Upper management are a close knit group and gossip travels fast. Contrarily, they are not empowered to make decisions. Every decision has to travel all the way up the chain and then back down, which means you often wait a long time for decisions or get completely forgotten in the process. They don’t mean to ignore you; they just have a lot on their plates. Bulk of managers pay comes from personal sales so they are often on the sales floor, leaving customer issues to less competent people. Company meetings and get togethers are a lot of fun if you enjoy a week of heavy drinking. Bottom line, DMC is an incredible career opportunity where you can make your dreams come true if you are willing to work very hard and can tolerate a few irritations.
