Pros

Great benefits, various retirement plans and a pension. People are nice and most really care about the core of what we do.

Cons

You are treated like a job title. People are surprised when you know more than what your job title says and they reward you with more work under the same job title. Tons of meetings with very little accomplishment. There is a struggle between those who have been here for a very long time and have pay higher than they would get anywhere else, versus the younger generations just trying to get a career going and waiting for movement and opportunity to happen. No one is held accountable for their work or lack thereof. People who really should be let go are allowed to sit and retire. The retiree pool is getting bigger than the current employee pool but there are some that never should have been able to retire. You will spend 10+ years in a job before you get a chance to move up and if you don't have a college degree forget it. Some departments bully you for taking any time off.

Pros

Incredible work environment and organizational culture.

Cons

As a temporal intern, it was difficult to get to the office if you do not have a car.

Pros

Really great mission. Not as cutthroat as other companies I’ve worked for. Cares about employees and structure of organization makes it a government org that doesn’t suck money for endless projects.

Cons

Pay for entry level employees feels low.
