Pros

Generous PTO package and pension that you must contribute 3% into.

Cons

It’s sad to see how Denver Water has gone from a highly reputable organization to an over managed-extreme liberal forward corporation. New hires are jumping ship daily while tenured employees are holding on for dear life until retirement to obtain their “pension”. The employees in the Trades Department are literally going backwards in pay due to inflation and extremely low merit increases. (0-3%) There are no cost of living raises. The company has developed a low moral style structure in a way of producing very poor quality work while watching Netflix all day without repercussions. If you have seniority you can very well do what you please and will not be reprimanded. Denver Water claims to be dedicated to their customers but spent an extreme amount of money on their new administrate building, upped the customer rates, and let 75% of the company work from home part time, permanently.

Pros

Incredible work environment and organizational culture.

Cons

As a temporal intern, it was difficult to get to the office if you do not have a car.

Pros

Really great mission. Not as cutthroat as other companies I’ve worked for. Cares about employees and structure of organization makes it a government org that doesn’t suck money for endless projects.

Cons

Pay for entry level employees feels low.
