Pros

Soft money faculty position allows one to spend vastly more than full time equivalent to get funding, execute grants, publish etc

Cons

Admin is decoupled from Faculty entirely. There is no feedback mechanism there at all. Overhead rate is higher than peer institutions. Junior faculty receive almost no training whatsoever.

I really enjoy working here, the environment is more relaxed and people are friendly. Good if you're a student interested in science as you go in for your own hours

Cons

You will need a car to commute as it's off campus
