Pros

Nice group of people in the research divisions

Cons

The worst place I have ever worked. The current administration is extremely self serving, pretending to have an open door policy while all the decisions made are done behind closed doors. The first woman President is definitely a disappointment and shows no respect for the people that built the institution.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your input as a former employee, and we’re sorry to hear you feel this way. In her first year as President, Dr. Kristen Averyt has welcomed feedback from faculty, students, and staff on the Institute’s new initiatives and her strategic directions during several all-employee town hall meetings, open brown bag lunches, and internal events. She has also implemented an online, anonymous employee suggestion box and maintains an open-door policy on both campuses when she is available. However, your feedback indicates that there could still be improvements to the dynamic between administration and research faculty. Your concern will be passed to the Senior Leadership team, which provides counsel to the President on policies, procedures, campus operations, and strategic planning, so they can have this insight. Furthermore, President Averyt and the Senior Leadership team invite all faculty, students, and staff to approach them with questions, ideas, and concerns. Employees are also encouraged to engage with their supervisors and contact members of the Senior Leadership Team if they are uncomfortable discussing their concerns directly with the President.

Pros

I really enjoy working here, the environment is more relaxed and people are friendly. Good if you're a student interested in science as you go in for your own hours

Cons

You will need a car to commute as it's off campus
