Pros

Decent work/life balance. Easy to get recognition within your contract. Company sometimes has some interesting events. They pay for training and seem to be willing to help you in growth.

Cons

Pay not up to industry standard. Would be nice to have networking events to meet our coworkers more often. Unlimited PTO, but every request is scrutinized. Sometimes long hours due to contract requirements.

Thank you for taking time to submit a review and for your candid feedback. I understand that you would like more pay, I think that is probably a universal feeling across employees at most companies. Here is what I can share for Dev Technology's philosophy related to pay. We leverage multiple tools, including Glassdoor, to establish salary ranges for positions. These salary ranges are at the market standard for our types of positions, our industry, and our geography. Since, Dev Technology is a Federal IT services contractor, most of our salaries are controlled based upon what our clients are willing to pay us for the support they need. Specifically, as an IT service contractor, we are paid by our clients for the support they need, it is a one-to-one relationship. Our revenue is directly tied to what the client is willing to pay for the employee as is our profit. This is different than at a commercial company that offers a product, they have a fixed number of employees who develop a product that can be sold many times, thereby increasing their profit. We do not have that as a model in the IT services industry. For example, if you are a software developer, the clients establish ceiling rates on contracts and Dev Technology has to find employees with salaries who fit into those ceiling rates. If we choose to hire someone at a salary above those rates, the company does not make any profit on that employee. If we hire employees consistently for salaries above those rates, we become unprofitable and would not be able to stay in business. It is the profit generated on our contracts that allow us to pay for the Flexible PTO (not unlimited), corporate networking events, training, our corporate team, etc. While this is a simplification of how the system of an IT services contractor works, it is a true depiction. If you would like to talk about your situation in detail, I encourage you to reach out to myself or our HR team. ~Kendall Holbrook, CEO

Thank you for taking time completing the review. I appreciate the praise and the feedback. To address your comment on pay, we do assess pay each year, specifically refreshing our pay brackets so that they are competitive with government contractors in the regions we support. Other sectors, may pay more, that is true. As far as complacency. Let's get you engaged more. It sounds like you appreciate the culture. If you want to do more, learn more, engage more, let someone know. You can reach out internally to myself, HR, our Chief Technologist (John), whomever. There's always more to do than we have time to do it! Thanks again. ~Kendall, CEO
