Pros
Salary and benefits were reasonable and I never felt like I was being taken advantage of. PTO seemed reasonable with sick time being as needed (untracked). Laid back atmosphere with a casual dress code was nice. I worked with a great team of people who were extremely smart, always willing to collaborate, and produced some amazing stuff. I was only asked to work extra hours a few times in my time at Digi which felt more than reasonable. They did a great job at not pressuring you to put in massive hours. IT and Engineering Tools team were a pleasure to work with, and they were more than willing to help me find the solutions I needed to get my work done. On-site gym was impressive with loads of free weights, treadmills, machines, and a nice little yoga room. As well, the trails around the building were super nice to use when you needed a break. Very scenic with a few little lakes with some wildlife (ducks, geese, etc.). On-site cafeteria had breakfast and lunch with solid food, and prices were reasonable. As well, they had quite a few little "celebrations" like monthly treats for birthdays, Friday food trucks during the summer, and occasionally other team building parties. Some might argue it's just fluff to distract from "real" benefits, but I always felt like they were a good break to just get to know people.
Cons
My biggest complaint about Digi was probably just that it felt like there was a big disconnect between the work that I was doing and how it tied into the vision for the company. Eventually, I just began to feel like nothing I did mattered because it was just another random feature that probably wouldn't get used by anyone. Eventually, that feeling wore me out. I wanted to feel like what I did for the company mattered. I will add that I get with a large company like Digi with such a wide array of products, it's probably tough to get the message down to every team member. But even on the products I worked on, I didn't see the importance of those products.
