Pros

Into my 4th year with BoardPaq and very impressed with the company and the team of people. It is a joy working with a team of people that work hard, makes decisions and moves to realize our goals. We are never standing still and always moving the product forward. We stay up on new technologies and we are always incorporating them to keep the product relevant in todays ever changing environment. This is a great place for someone who wants to get their hands dirty in technologies to learn and actually implement them. The leadership genuinely cares about each team member and is very engaged in keeping the company running smoothly.

Cons

This is an exciting place to work for, but if you don't handle change well, learning new technologies and concepts, or like a company with a strict hierarchical structure, then this is not the place.

When we started the company in 2011, our main goal was to have a great family work environment that focused on emerging technologies that help our customers and their leadership teams to be great in and out of the board room. Our employees are making this happen everyday!

Pros

The product is market-leading, and the space is genuinely interesting. There's no shortage of smart, capable people at Diligent. A lot of talented managers exist within the org who could do more if given the room.

Cons

Direction changes constantly — sometimes it feels quarter over quarter. The result is widespread burnout and an inability to execute. Senior leaders rarely push back on the CEO, which means teams absorb every strategic shift without warning or context. HR leadership prioritizes serving the executive team over the broader employee population. The HR team is stretched thin and operates more like a compliance function than a culture or development partner. (Turnover within HR leadership has been notable.) Pay is below market. The equity program is opaque, poorly managed, and functions more as a retention mechanism than a genuine benefit (with no clear path to liquidity). There's a meaningful gap between what the company says it stands for—especially around employee experience—and what it actually delivers internally.
