Pros

I joined Diligent last Tuesday so would not like to elaborate on all the usual topics as I still have a lot to experience. However, having just finished the Onboarding Program, I wanted to highlight that it made me feel so comfortable, secure and valued that the company put together a 5-star, very well organized, interesting, motivational and smooth onboarding where all our questions were answered and somebody was always there to help. I do think I need to share this, not only to thank everybody involved, but also to let anyone interested in this company know. First experience matters so much, not only because of the impression it makes, but also because of how it makes you feel like about your job as a whole. If things are made easy for you at the very beginning, then it creates a basis for you to do your job in an easy and enjoyable way and not to stress about it. As natural as this may sound, this is not the case at every company, so I really appreciate Diligent taking this extra step, especially in these insecure Covid times which can be hard for both employees and employers.

Pros

The product is market-leading, and the space is genuinely interesting. There's no shortage of smart, capable people at Diligent. A lot of talented managers exist within the org who could do more if given the room.

Cons

Direction changes constantly — sometimes it feels quarter over quarter. The result is widespread burnout and an inability to execute. Senior leaders rarely push back on the CEO, which means teams absorb every strategic shift without warning or context. HR leadership prioritizes serving the executive team over the broader employee population. The HR team is stretched thin and operates more like a compliance function than a culture or development partner. (Turnover within HR leadership has been notable.) Pay is below market. The equity program is opaque, poorly managed, and functions more as a retention mechanism than a genuine benefit (with no clear path to liquidity). There's a meaningful gap between what the company says it stands for—especially around employee experience—and what it actually delivers internally.
